Lola Montez, die Tänzerin des Königs
The story of a widely admired outsider who flees from the gallows in Spain to Venice, becomes involved in a political conspiracy in Paris, and in Munich becomes the king’s lover. In her film adaptation of the life of Lola Montez (1821–1861), Ellen Richter brings together a wide range of milieus, locations, and genres: the proletarian and the aristocratic, music and dance, adventure film, cross-dressing comedy, and melodrama. Ellen Richter’s favorite film.
