Lissy

Lissy (played by Sonja Sutter, who later became a stage actress) is a working-class girl from Wedding with big dreams. The economic crisis prevents her from climbing the social ladder, while her husband seeks salvation in the SA. Wolf's first major cinema success attempts to answer the question of how the Nazis were able to gain so much support at the end of the Weimar Republic, without forgetting who really stands by the working class.
