SO 24.11.: With an introduction by Petra Popović
Time seems to have stood still in Prekmurje. The inhabitants near the Austrian border are currently fighting against foot-and-mouth disease, but the hardship also creates cohesion. However, many men are missing, having followed the lure of ‘guest work’ to Austria and Germany - like Tjas' and Tunc's brother Ferenc, who is on holiday in his old homeland and is now the richest man in the village, kicking up dust with his racing car ... LET MRTVE PTICE calmly and expressively depicts the different ways in which the three brothers deal with decay, change and modernisation through their biographies. Before that: a tour through a dilapidated house in need of rent, the impressive portrait of a multinational house community and a conclusion at Munich Central Station. (red)
