LES ÂMES BOSSALES
Vorfilm: AGWE
Haiti, 19'
Bossales was the name given to the African slaves who won Haiti's war of independence. Today, the term refers to a rebellious person. It is precisely such people who are portrayed in the film. Whether it's human rights defender Charlotte, satirical columnist Foukifoura, filmmaker Edris, who is part of the uprising movement, Michou, a worker struggling to survive, or the enigmatic voodoo priest Ramoncite: they all embody the soul of their country. Bossales portrays Haiti as a fervent home of political and spiritual resistance and offers insight into the struggles of its inhabitants.
