Leben um Leben
Ellen Richter as a femme fatale. Unlike in the 1920s, at the beginning of her film career she also portrayed highly dubious characters. In her earliest fully preserved film, LEBEN UM LEBEN, she appears as Princess Carmen Metschersky—friendly and charming on the surface, yet driven by greed and a thirst for revenge. She sows discord and stops at nothing, until her feelings suddenly shift. The ending is icy.
