After his comedy PROBLEMOS - ALLE TOT. WE'RE NOT. (2017), which seemingly anticipated the Covid pandemic, director Noé Debré delivers another film that is almost frighteningly topical with LE DERNIER DES JUIFS. Almost in parallel to the news about the consequences of Hamas' attacks on Israel and the increase in anti-Semitic activity in France, we follow a naive 27-year-old who lives with his sick mother and refuses to accept that Jewish life in their Parisian neighbourhood is becoming increasingly restricted. The synagogue in the neighbourhood has already closed, and now the last kosher shop is also shutting down. Despite the young man's unshakeable spirit, it becomes clear: we are the last Jews alive here! A Jewish tragedy as comedy. The musical motif is provided by the magnificent Enrico Macias.
