Anita Lackenberger's docudrama takes us to an insecure border region without clear ownership: the early medieval Marchfeld. The deed of gift from 1021 to a Bavarian monastery is intended to enable the land to be colonised and Christianised. The immigrants encounter Slavic and Hungarian settlers. The journey through time raises topical issues such as migration, land ownership, war and peace.
