Lady Bird

17-year-old Christine McPherson (Saoirse Ronan) calls herself Lady Bird and the only thing she likes about the year 2002 is that it's a palindrome. Next year she will graduate from a Catholic high school in Sacramento and then all she wants to do is get out of the Californian hinterland, preferably somewhere on the East Coast, where she imagines artists live in the woods. However, her mother Marion (Laurie Metcalf) is less than enthusiastic about her daughter's plans, as money is already tight despite her many double shifts as a nurse, especially since her father Larry (Tracy Letts) has lost his job.
