La Travesía
Edith and Leonel are two young migrants from El Salvador who had to leave their home country in search of a better future. The two meet in an emergency shelter on the Mexican border with the USA. There they meet other migrants and hear their personal stories. However, they are soon harassed by a criminal gang that takes advantage of the people's defencelessness and desperation. This threat causes the migrants to begin to show solidarity.
The feature film from El Salvador by director Noé Valladares - a representative of ‘cine comunitario’ - tells of a highly topical subject with impressive ease and impresses with the acting performances of the many amateur actors.
