La jauría (The Pack)

Eliú has committed a serious crime together with his mate "El Mono". As punishment, he is sent to an educational camp for young people. In the middle of the Colombian jungle, the inmates have to perform hard physical labour. The despotic guards make life hell for the youngsters. In addition, dubious therapy sessions with the domineering educator Godoy are the order of the day. When "El Mono" turns up at the camp one day, Eliú is once again confronted with his past. The already tense situation spirals out of control. Eliú tries to escape.

In his gripping film debut, Colombian director Andrés Ramírez Pulido vividly portrays the struggle of young gang members to break out of the spiral of violence. In hyper-realistic images, he shows the lack of prospects and traumas of a young generation in Colombia growing up without fathers or other male figures of identification. The great amateur actors are convincing in this suspenseful drama with their honest acting and authentic language - especially leading actor Jhojan Stiven Jimenez.
