LA GUITARRA FLAMENCA DE YERAI CORTÉS (THE FLAMENCO GUITAR OF YERAI CORTÈS)

After first becoming known as C. Tangana as a rapper and then becoming famous with a combination of autotune pop, flamenco and rumba, Antón Álvarez presents his film directorial debut: a portrait of the flamenco guitarist Yerai Cortés, who is (still) flying under the radar as an insider tip on the scene. By carefully tracing the origins of Cortés‘ extraordinary, soulful playing, Álvarez's film project uncovers a family history filled with love and pain, thus also telling of the culture of the Rom*nja in Spain - and becoming the visual harbinger of Cortés’ long-awaited first album.
