Kurzfilmprogramm: Komplex Kafka

Duration97min.

Three very different approaches to the Kafka complex: Astrid Ofner takes the correspondence between Milena Jesenská and Kafka from 1920 as the starting point for a poetic, quiet, touching essay on Vienna, shot in grainy Super 8 images that gently approach the mystery surrounding their relationship. The second film takes a completely different approach: with the help of Gerhard Fritsch, Stanzl attempts a concrete approach to Kafka's life and work, reinforced by images and text. Zischler, who already dealt with the passionate cinephile Kafka in his 1996 book of the same name, playfully reflects on his complex, not always simple relationship to words and film.
