The ORF documentary GASTARBEITER IN ÖSTERREICH takes a hard look at the decision-makers and business representatives responsible for the mostly catastrophic living conditions of the ‘foreign labourers’, who are taking advantage of the legal situation. In THE BLIND HERDER, Awad El Kish portrays a blind farmer who lives on the margins of a society for which he is above all a nuisance. The ‘foreign’ filmmaker looks back at the ‘host country’. In his debut film, Goran Rebić follows his father's journey from Ebergassing to Vienna as a job seeker. Months of waiting without a wife and child, a small room with a tiny cooker, a dismissal on the first day of work. A road movie about arriving in a foreign country. (red)
