KROTKAJA (DIE SANFTE)

Alyonka regularly sends packages to her husband, who is imprisoned in Siberia — until one day a parcel is returned to her without explanation. She sets out on a journey into the heart of a hermetically sealed system: what begins as a search for answers turns into a descent into a world of humiliation, arbitrariness, and Kafkaesque bureaucracy. KROTKAJA portrays a society in which harshness has become routine and compassion no longer has a place.
