Odenwald-Gay, Golem, Klaus, 60 years old, gay, slave—this is how the protagonist of *Der Unfertige* introduces himself. As a tax advisor, he worked in an environment where he could only express his sexuality in secrecy. Bound in chains and leather straps, he unfolds his life story: seeking understanding, not tenderness. The film concludes with a Beethoven sonata and a close-up of the protagonist’s face—the visual embodiment of intimacy.
*Hotel Straussberg* is a prison run as a hotel, where discipline, punishment as fetish, waiting times, and occasional sexual pleasure coexist—sometimes interrupted by the preparation of simple sausage platters.
In *Der Besuch*, the grandmother and mother of the establishment’s operator receive a tour of the facility, complete with demonstrations of the disciplinary equipment. (Dietmar Schwärzler)
