Kara Kafa
**Restored Version**
**FR 29.11.: With an introduction by Florian Widegger**
Metalworker Cafer brings his family from Turkey to Germany, convinced that it is the land of unlimited opportunities. However, their new life is fraught with challenges and unexpected developments—his wife becomes active in the women’s movement, the eldest son refuses to go to school, and his daughter is forced to stay home to care for her newborn brother. With its politically leftist perspective on labor migration, *KARA KAFA* stands out among other examples of German-Turkish cinema.
Upon its completion, the Turkish censorship committee banned the film, claiming it insulted "the honor of Germany, the allied nation." In 2023, the film finally premiered in Germany in its restored version. *(Can Sungu)*
