Jugofilm
Something changed overnight in Vienna in 1991. Since then, Milan says, he can remember everything, he has forgotten his life before. His brother Saša is drafted into the army in Serbia, while the family has to watch their homeland disintegrate. Saša's return from the war also becomes a crucial test for them. Goran Rebić's almost poetic, dream-like narrative does not hide the nightmare; it is still present today. He deliberately casts his actors against their nationality - the Georgian Merab Ninidze plays a Serb, the German Eva Mattes his mother, a Serb plays a Croat, a Croat plays a Bosniak - and not least in doing so broadens our view of what war does to people, how the fronts run in people's minds, of the fallen before. A film that remains in the memory.
