JUGENDLICHE
Together with his co-author Peter Huemer and cameraman Walter Kindler, 26-year-old Peter Patzak sets off on a journey across Austria to document the everyday lives and realities of young people in the early 1970s. The result is six individual stories of young people from different federal states and social classes, which tell of family, professional and hierarchical relationships that are astonishing and sometimes frightening today. In the style of direct cinema, the filmmakers dispense with voiceover and explanatory context and only allow their protagonists to speak for themselves. The film opens with Patzak's first short film, in which his second passion, painting, plays a special role. (red)
