Jeu de massacre (Mordgeschichten)
"A dream is something comfortable. You can get away with anything in it," muses Pierre Meyrand, a successful comic book author, at the beginning of this film on the shores of a Swiss lake, before an adventure through the imagination and fantasy of the mind begins for him and the cinema audience. A quirky young man invites Pierre and his wife Jacqueline to his estate because he wants to get to know the artist he admires. Based on their encounter, the latter unravels a series of stories and scenes involving the host, his wife, Jacqueline and himself. Linked by images by Belgian comic artist Guy Peellaert, Jessua stages each of these situations as a playful, experimental homage to the popular cinema of the time and was honoured with the prize for best screenplay at the 1967 Cannes Film Festival.
