For his first solo directorial effort, Terry Gilliam stayed true to the medieval satire of MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL: Inspired by Lewis Carroll's nonsense poem of the same name, JABBERWOCKY tells of medieval simpleton Dennis, played by Gilliam's Monty Python co-star Michael Palin, who slays a dragon-like monster in the kingdom of King Bruno the Questionable (Max Wall). The heroic deed finally earns him the respect of his beloved Griselda (Annette Badland), but also the heart of the princess (Deborah Fallender) stuck in the castle tower.
