Intertango – A Connection for Life

It is the first moment of touch, the breathless anticipation of what is to come, the willingness to surrender to the moment, the music, the partner and the intimate embrace - it is TANGO! Anyone who has had this intense experience will look for it again and again. Tango connects people worldwide in a unique way and makes cultural barriers disappear.

The documentary looks at tango as an intercultural phenomenon and gives an intimate insight into ‘the emotional adventure journey’ that ‘aficionados’ experience. Naoko, who conquered a male domain with Japanese restraint and became a tango DJ in Buenos Aires. Iftikhar from Pakistan, who led a double life in the past and has now started giving tango lessons. Mila from Russia, whose desire to have children seems incompatible with tango, and Rodrigo, for whom tango is and remains one big experiment.

Tango is a seduction that casts a spell over people all over the world - director Hanne Weyh, herself a passionate tango dancer, makes this clear in her film.
