In Frankfurt sind die Nächte heiss
When Karl Spiehs took over, a rougher wind initially blew through the Lisa films - prime director Rolf Olsen took an innocent young Viennese to the sinful big city, where fate, love and a few pimps played tricks on him. Inspector Reinisch is groping in the dark in his investigation into the case of a murdered prostitute, while ‘the milieu’ takes matters into its own hands - a rather obvious homage to Lang's M. Olsen delivers one thriller after another in these years and films himself from Munich to Hamburg. Only a dispute with Spiehs after his main work BLUTIGER FREITAG (1972) put an end to their extremely fruitful collaboration for a few years - after reconciliation, however, they were no longer able to build on their earlier strokes of genius.
