Stefanie Weberhofer has been capturing the alpine region around the Dachstein with her Super 8 camera since 2022. She transforms landscape panoramas and detailed views, shots of mass and top-class sport, structural interventions in nature and signs of man-made climate change into cinematic experiments and impressively exploits the artistic potential of analogue Super 8 material. During the filming process, the motifs are rhythmised, multiplied, long-exposed or time-lapsed in the camera. When developing the film by hand, the artist works with beer, blackberries and chanterelles, among other things: the deliberate manipulation of the chemical process - the mistake as a method - is also a reference to human intervention in nature. Several films are dedicated to the writer Bodo Hell, who spent many summers as a dairyman on the Grafenbergalm on the Dachstein and has been missing there since August 2024. Weberhofer visited Hell several times and filmed him at work; his text 666 is the inspiration for the short film title Schonwieder hat sich eine Landschaft hergestellt. (A.P.)

Stefanie Weberhofer will project her Super 8 films herself from the cinema auditorium and talk about the programme.
