Il Sol dell’Avvenire

Giovanni, a well-known Italian filmmaker, is about to start shooting his latest film. But between his struggling marriage, his co-producer on the verge of bankruptcy and the rapidly changing film industry, everything seems to be working against him and his project. Perhaps it's time for Giovanni to rethink his strict approach. Moretti playfully blurs the boundaries between life, his character's films and his own filmography and neuroses, inviting the audience to pause and rediscover the true joy and magic of cinema.

The film premiered in Cannes and was shown in Austria at the Viennale.
