Antonio is alone in Milan with his seriously ill son Pietro. They have come to the northern Italian city in the desperate hope of finding a cure. 15-year-old Jaber also lives in Milan with a group of fellow countrymen. He recently emigrated to Europe to escape the unrest of the Arab Spring. Both men unwittingly find themselves in the same city, in a hospital where Antonio has taken Pietro and Jaber has taken his friend Youssef.
