HITMAN HART: WRESTLING WITH SHADOWS

There are very few wrestlers (especially from the nineties) where fans don't have to rigorously separate the art from the artist. Bret ‘Hitman’ Hart is one of them. Honest, modest and without the usual delusions or drug problems inherent in wrestling, Hart was the safest choice as the new WWF champion in times of steroid scandals and perhaps the most obedient soldier in Vince McMahon's apparatus. Pink trousers, mirrored sunglasses and electric guitar entrance music paired with technical virtuosity made him, against all expectations, the driving force behind the ‘sports entertainment’ juggernaut.
