BEHIND THE SCENES deals with the story of migrants who contribute to the success of the celebrated Salzkammergut tourism region from behind the scenes.

People from all over the world travel to the Salzkammergut, enjoying the landscape, the unspoilt nature, the hospitality, the traditional festivities and the echoes of imperial splendour.
Ilija from Bosnia, Ibadete from Kosovo, Raghda from Syria, Greg from Namibia and Hashmat from Afghanistan have also come from far away, but not on holiday. The five of them have been working for years in catering and construction jobs and are part of the celebrated tourist region's image.
The circumstances that led them to make the journey to their new home are dramatic in different ways. They talk about setting off and arriving, about foreignness, homesickness, perseverance and friendship in a country that they did not choose to live in voluntarily.
