Heimatfilm: Film & Buchpräsentation
In The House of My Father, Ludwig Wüst already explored the history of his family and childhood. Heimatfilm takes that introspection a step further—becoming even more personal. A photo album serves as the starting point for a rich, associative journey through the places and spaces that hold meaning in his life. It’s a cinematic stroll through his biography and his archive, accompanied by familiar and new friends appearing on screen. Hovering above it all is the question of what “homeland” truly is—or isn’t.
Created around his 50th birthday, the filmmaker takes stock of his work so far. His next leap—Aufbruch—will be a bold one. But first, a cinematic tribute to the great Pier Paolo Pasolini, shot at the very place where he was murdered. (Florian Widegger)
Book presentation of a new publication dedicated to Ludwig Wüst, followed by an artist talk with the director.
