Dagmar Brunow, Professor of Film Studies at Linné University in Växjö (Sweden), and Katharina Müller, Head of the Film Museum's Department of Research, Education and Publications, present the issue they have edited, Women and Film: Archives and Films, which illustrates the breadth of the subject. Anja Czioska presents two of her performative film experiments in person and reports on the ‘self-archive’. Whilst You Archive Me by Connie Bell, Nadeem Din-Gabisi and Etienne Joseph and FAcing ForWArd by Fiona Tan explore the possibilities of a decolonial image politics to question Western power structures and knowledge practices and to counter the often violent handling of colonial film heritage with other stories and forms of knowledge. Three Underwater Pieces with Cello by Nina Rippel is an example of the precarious archiving situation of video art. Franzis Kabisch has artistically realised her archive research on the subject of abortion in the film getty abortions. (Andrea Pollach)
