Over two and a half years, director Lilith Kugler follows and documents the life of Chris, a homeless and drug-addicted young man living at a Berlin S-Bahn station—even through the bitter cold of winter. Her film focuses on what most people avoid or ignore: it highlights the systemic failures of institutions meant to help those who fall through the cracks, while showcasing the crucial role of grassroots initiatives.

Through striking and intimate visuals, the film paints a raw portrait of a young man who, despite constant setbacks, continues to rise and fight for his place in society. Chris's story is one that demands to be heard. (Florian Widegger)
