Happy Pills

The film takes the audience on a journey around the world and uses the example of six people and their medicines to tell what a major role pharmaceutical products are playing in our society today. From painkillers across opioids to stimulants, our entire consumption society and the so-called El Dorado of prescribed happiness are questioned. A modern fable about the universal obsession with high performance and the irrepressible desire to continue to perform in society. Can we pack happiness into a pill?
