Hannah Arendt – Denken ist gefährlich

The film is dedicated to the eminent philosopher Hannah Arendt—activist, media personality, and fearless thinker “without guardrails.” Original quotes from Arendt's essays and letters, recited by Nina Hoss, as well as atmospheric archive footage, create an intimate portrait of an intellectual whose life was shaped by the experience of Hitler's fascism and the incomprehensibility of the Holocaust. The film shows how Arendt, as a Jew and resistance fighter, sought to understand the world – and why her thoughts on the catastrophes of the 20th century speak directly to us in the here and now.
