November 1932: Lord McCordle (Michael Gambon and Kristin Scott Thomas) invites you to a hunting party. This means a full house of relatives, friends and other well-known guests upstairs. One floor below is the house's own servants and those brought along. Discreet and personal matters upstairs are commented on in private downstairs and, if necessary, passed on elsewhere upstairs. The relationships are clearly defined until a murder disrupts this order and reveals unexpected connections between the classes.
