Good Morning, Vietnam
Presenter: Nicole Dietrich (Ö1)
Adrian Cronauer is one of those people who don't mince their words - the best prerequisites for a job as a radio presenter. In the mid-1960s, he is sent to Vietnam to boost the morale of the American troops stationed there with his unconventional approach. While the ordinary soldiers quickly come to adore him, he encounters increasing opposition from his superiors ... Robin Williams in one of his best roles: Initially a carefree joker, he becomes increasingly aware of his own responsibility in this dirty war and is forced to act according to his conscience. The fact that he still manages to send a lot of good humour and even more catchy tunes through the airwaves is what makes this thought-provoking comedy so charming. (Florian Widegger)
