Girls and Gods
‘I am one of those hysterical, immoral women that some want to punish in the name of their god.’ Inna Shevchenko, a political activist from the Ukrainian feminist group Femen, sets off on a journey around the globe. She is looking for answers to the question of whether and to what extent belief in a god and basic feminist convictions are compatible. In the process, she meets people from different religions, who are grappling with the same question to varying degrees. This is sometimes quite oppressive, but in addition to all the philosophical and theological aspects, it shows how important it is to have an open dialogue with one another despite opposing points of view and, yes, to be able to argue.
