Their heyday is long gone for the former dance and love couple Amelia and Pippo: as imitators of Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, they were once celebrated by the public. 30 years after their separation, they see each other again during a joint appearance on a television show - which, however, turns out to be a strange panopticon, including a dwarf ballet and a flying monk ... The omnipresent piles of rubbish in the film underline the ‘littering’ of media and society consistently pursued by Berlusconi's private television, where ratings are in demand and not artistic integrity. A melancholy look at the lost world of artists who, even in the swamp of the most lowbrow tastelessness, cannot be deprived of one thing: their dignity. (Florian Widegger)
