Gastarbeiter: Wo sein Wäsche / Auf der Strecke

Two television dramas on the subject of ‘guest workers’ that made history and left their mark: First, the Kafkaesque odyssey of a married couple trying to obtain a state-issued laundry package for their newborn baby – bureaucracy and xenophobia included. A baby in the front garden forces family man Alois, who feels left behind and can't find a job, to make a moral decision and abandon his prejudices.
