Fuchs im Bau

Ambitious secondary school teacher Hannes Fuchs finds himself in an unusual workplace: the prison school in the youth wing of a large Viennese detention centre. There he meets his unconventional colleague Elisabeth Berger, whose unconventional art lessons shake up everyday life in the prison, but who is a thorn in the side of the management. Initially, the two can't stand each other, but when a young, talented inmate attempts suicide, the two realise that they have more in common than separates them ... In restless images, FUCHS IM BAU conveys the disorientation of its protagonists, exposes the weaknesses of the juvenile prison system and is - despite its gravity - a relaxed, empathetic and, above all, excellently acted drama.
