"Women, Life, Freedom!" – under this call, thousands unite in protest against oppression following the death of young Iranian woman Jina Mahsa Amini on September 16, 2022, in Tehran and around the world. Arrested by Iran’s morality police for allegedly wearing her headscarf incorrectly, Amini died in custody just three days later, sparking international outrage and solidarity. The protests extend to Germany, where exiled Iranian women who fled the regime in the 1970s stand side by side with young German-Iranian women of the second generation, including Jasmin Shakeri, Pegah Ferydoni, Natalie Amiri, and Enissa Amani. Together, they fight for a free future in which Iranian society can live without fear and with dignity.
