Freaks

FREAKS takes cinema back to its fairground beginnings. Director Tod Browning once worked there as a contortionist himself - for his film he hires actors with a similar background. But the real ‘freaks’ are the supposedly ‘normal’ people who mock and abuse them ... It would be decades before this often banned morality play was recognised as the masterful cult film that it is.
