Frau aus Freiheit

Poland in the early 1980s. As the country gradually turns its back on communism and transforms itself into a democratic state, Aniela Wesoły seeks her freedom as a trans woman in a small town. Even during her childhood and youth as Andrzej, she begins to feel different. But those around her reacted with a lack of understanding and repression. Aniela lives as a man for half her life, has a job in an office, marries a woman and has two children. But neither the resistance in her family nor state repression can stop her from finally becoming the person she has always been.
