Flickering Selves
While bodies melt away in a bathtub and a hidden crime nears its discovery, an artist playing ping-pong flickers in (in)visibility. These animated self-portraits are not only a means of tracing the self, but also allow us to experience the self in its ambiguity and constant transformation and reshaping. The self as subject is inscribed into the material – tangible yet fleeting, solidified yet never completely fixed, beyond superficial representation or external definition.
