Five Shilling Nylon
Set in the picturesque mountainous landscape of Cyprus in 1940, this film is a captivating story of love thriving in unusual and difficult circumstances. The story begins with a desperate couple on the run from the authorities seeking refuge in a remote mill house. The man leaves the woman and flees to the countryside, while the miller and the woman gradually forge a bond of affection. But when the man returns unexpectedly, trouble ensues... Shot in impressive black and white by experienced cinematographer Vladimir Subotic, this film succeeds in transporting us to a past in which human emotions are as dramatic as the landscape.
