Femme Ocean

Annika von Schütz portrays five women* from different generations and their love of surfing. Whether it's big wave surfer Joana Andrade in Portugal, Maryam El Gardoum in Morocco or Sithmi Nawodya in Sri Lanka, all surfers are pursuing their dream of freedom. They are pioneers in a male-dominated sport, trailblazers for others, activists for environmental protection and women's rights, adventurers, (life) artists, athletes and people who feel deeply connected to the sea.
