Felber und die schweren Jungs
Walter Felber on phyto-environmental remediation and new soils. Low-cost planting models, phytoremediation, are used to clean soils contaminated with heavy metals, the so-called “heavy guys”. Phytoremediation utilizes the ability of plants to concentrate elements and compounds from the environment and detoxify various compounds without causing additional pollution. Field trials confirmed the feasibility of using plants for environmental remediation. “Trials began in 2013 with residual waste from household waste and continued in 2019 with commercial waste similar to household waste. For residual waste, neither landfills nor waste incineration are needed as a waste technology. Small municipalities and users can turn their own residual waste into new soils themselves after 5-6 years using phyto-environmental remediation.” (Text by Dipl. Ing. Dr. Walter Felber)
