Families are ... complicated! Played by a great ensemble, EZRA - A FAMILY STORY takes moviegoers on a furious father-son trip across the country, where father Max usually takes a wrong turn and rarely says the right thing. A journey that will change their lives forever.

EZRA - A FAMILY STORY is a touching and extremely human story about love within a family, parenthood, being different and acceptance. Wonderfully warm-hearted and wise, the film tells of a father's unconditional love for his son and the challenges of being different. It provides touching insights into the life of a boy with autism spectrum disorder, follows a father in search of a closer connection with his son and follows a fragile family as they learn to stick together during a turbulent cross-country chase.

Ezra is a bright, charismatic 11-year-old boy whose autism diagnosis is a much bigger problem for his parents than it is for him. Sure, he always speaks his mind, which seems to cause a lot of trouble at school and around him, but he also knows exactly what he needs to feel safe. Meanwhile, his father, stand-up comedian Max, worries about everything, especially Ezra's safety. As Max's fears grow, he does what comes naturally to him - he makes life even more complicated. On the spur of the moment, Max climbs over his ex-wife's fire escape in the middle of the night and packs his sleepy son into his car. Without knowing exactly where the journey will take them, father and son embark on a hilarious and chaotic adventure in which they learn to appreciate each other for who they are.

This rousing story is brought to the big screen by a unique team whose mission is authentic representation and empowerment. Leading the way is William A. Fitzgerald, a 15-year-old teenager with autism spectrum disorder. As Ezra, the newcomer delivers a more than impressive performance in his first film role.
