Social inequality is a major problem in Haiti. While some can afford to hire people to take care of their households and children, these employees often live miles away from their families. Exiled Inland offers insight into the stories of domestic workers who move from the countryside to the capital Port-au-Prince to ensure their families' survival. Human rights violations and family breakdown are addressed, as are the close relationships that develop between the employees and their employers' children.
