‘It all started with the film ‘Morgarten findet statt’. In wanting to understand the complex cultural relationships of Central Switzerland, I wanted to use the film to further explore who I am and what influences have shaped me. In continuing to look at my homeland, I felt the need to get closer to the elementary aspects of life and survival. So I travelled through my country with my camera and recorded everything I encountered. As I worked, I realised that the film was a self-reflection on my own spiritual and emotional needs. I tried to find an answer, to become aware of what my elementary feelings are, which I believe are not different from those of my fellow human beings. It is an attempt to grasp what it means to have a HOME. With all its contradictions. TODAY...HERE...’ - Erich Langjahr
