With only 20 bullets per man, few cars and even fewer airplanes - the anti-fascists fight against cannons and tanks with nothing but hope. Malrauxʼ stirring docudrama about the Spanish Civil War was filmed in Barcelona in 1937, saved half-finished in France during the occupation and only came to the cinema after the Second World War.
