Alice (JULIA PIATON) is fully occupied with her duties as a teacher and mayor of a community of 400 people in the heart of Brittany. When the headstrong Émile (MICHEL BLANC), of all people, decides to learn to read and write at the age of 65 and sits in Alice's class, she is more than challenged. But things get even worse: suddenly her school is about to close and Alice sees the entire village life threatened. Now good advice is expensive. But it soon becomes clear what can be achieved if Alice and the villagers pull together - and come up with some very clever ideas.
